Emeritus Professor from the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador – Maracay, Venezuela. Coordinator of the Research Center EDUFISADRED; research focused on physical education, comparative studies in sport, gender, sport policy, sport management, culture and literature. Editorial board member of various academic journals. She has more than 70 referee papers, 33 books, 4 proceedings book, and 53 chapters in books. She has participated in conferences and presentations in all five continents. In 2007 received the highest research award given by the Venezuelan Council of Universities (CDCHT) as well as the scientific awards given by Aragua state (Fonacit) and from UPEL for research legacy (UPEL).  Besides Director of Research and Graduate Studies at UPEL-Maracay (2003 – 2007); State Sport Director (2009 – 2011). In her previous artistic gymnastics career, she was member of the Venezuelan national team, later coach, international judge and administrator. At sport level she received various distinctions.  Internationally she received in 2006 the “The Gold Medal of Honor” given by the International Council of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. In 2013 member of Honour of the World Association for Sport Management. Invited Prof. at various international and national universities. Major consultancies have included Expert for the Ministry of Education at the national training program for teachers in service in the areas of English as Foreign Language and Physical Education (2013 -2019). Reviewer of Quality Physical Education project by UNESCO in 2016. Member of the Advisory Council of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León – FOD – México. Responsibilities at international organizations: President of the International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW 2013 – 2021 September); Treasurer of the World Association for Sport Management (WASM 2016 – 2022); Vice President of the International Society for Comparative Studies in Physical Education and Sport (2008 – 2021); At ICSSPE Chair of ICSP 2008 – 2012. Editorial Board member 2008 – 2016. Board member 2012 – 2021 May; Founder President of the Latin America Sport Management Association (ALGEDE 2009 – 2015); Former Secretary for the Latin American Association for Socio Cultural Studies (ALESDE (2008 – 2014).
